Hi All!! Well again it has been awhile since I have been able to post......I really don't know where my days go, but they sure fly by fast! I have been so busy getting a shipment ready for a prim shop that I sell to, that I haven't had much left over time to do anything for my Etsy shop. I did take time out though and painted up these light switch covers. This is a design from Marie of Marie's Country Woodcrafts!

This is Marie's first e-pattern and I just thought it was adorable. Hop on over and pay Marie a visit, she just added another prim design, and it is as cute as this one. I should have these listed in my Etsy shop over the weekend, so come on over and visit!

Happy Spring Everyone!

A Few New Things To Share........

Hey everyone! It has been crazy busy here this week! I hope you all have had a chance to get out and enjoy some of this wonderful spring weather. I have just been so itchin' to get out and clean flower beds, but it is still just a little early for that here in Ilinois. It is wonderful though to be able to grab a cup of coffee and go and enjoy the sunshine, after so many weeks of dreariness.

Don't know about you all, but sunshine puts a spring in my step, and I get really anxious to clean, organize and create. So here are a few new things that I did this week. I was blessed beyond measure this week when two dear friends sent me a wonderful box of goodies to paint on. This snall trencher was one of the items, and it made the perfect container for some pears I had been wanting to paint. Isn't it just darling.....love that trencher! I listed this in my Etsy shop, and it sold witnin minutes! Gotta love that!

Since I have received so many requests to offer these pears in my Etsy shop, I wanted to let you all know they are now available as a set or individual. Sorry the set with the trencher bowl included was a OOAK item....hoping to find more one day!

Also included in my box of goodies was this fab cutting board. I have always loved this design by Susan Burd, and this piece finally gave me the chance to paint it. My camerea just didn't want to pick up the warm tones that are on this piece, but believe me it is prim to the max........very old and worn.

Now this piece I found at my local GW......I love recipes, and I never have enough storage for them, how about you? I painted this in a deep Rookwood Red, and then added a warm beige to the front. Then I sanded yet again to bring the red through, and it it turned out great. I added a real rusty tin star to it and there you have it........perfectly prim.

Till next time........Blessins to All!

A Trash to Treasure Redo!

This past Sunday my husband and I had a chance to do a little thrift shopping at GW. Although there wasn't a whole lot to choose from I did find this awesome sized plate. The moment I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to paint on it. Sorry I didn't get a before picture, but believe me it was ugly and in much need of some tender loving care. So home it came and after some sanding, sealing and more sanding it was ready for paint. I have loved this design of Deb Richey's since I first saw it, and I thought it was the perfect thing for this plate!
I added a real vintage button to her dress just to dress it up some, and I just love it!

I have a few more trash to treasure projects in the works, so I hope to be able to share them soon.....hope everyone is having a terrific Thursday........till next time......
Big Blessings to All!

Happy Wednesday All!

I never thought I would say this, but today I love the sight of mud! For the first time in months, I see the grass, ground, and all that winter left behind. We had a rather nice day here yesterday, and Mr. Sun worked his magic, and all the snow is gone....:) Now as I look out my office window, the promise of spring is becoming a true reality, and I couldn't be more excited.

It has been a busy week here so far. I have been blessed beyond measure with orders to fill, so that has kept me hopping. I did however get this whale tail box painted. I used a Terrye French design of an adorable chicken, with her saltbox house, and all that says prim! I have it as a utencil holder, but I can also see it as a wonderful candle keep. Love the little drawer at the bottom too.

Just as a reminder, my giveaway is coming up soon.......I will be drawing the winner on the 14th of March! So hop on over and get signed up! I have just been amazed at the response to it so far, and I wish that I had 10 more to give away.

Happy Wednesday to you all!

I Got To Paint Today!

I hope everyone is having a super Tuesday! It seems like forever since I have had a moment to get any new painting done but today I did get to finish up two new pieces!
This little gal is my "Prim Chick" There is just something about Fok Art chickens that I love to paint. I think it's their whimsical quality that speaks to me the most....:) I have a few more all  ready in my studio, so I will be showing those to you shortly.

This little gal I painted up for a customer today. The sun is shining here, which is wonderful, so the promise of spring has to be coming soon right? Since I usually paint in darker primitive colors, this was a wonderful change of pace for me, and I love how it turned out.

I actually got a photo outside today...the first in a very long time. I painted this little gal on a metal tin plate that has the ABC's embossed all around the rim. Of course I had to prim it up a little so I did some light sanding aroun the edges. If you like this design I have posted another like it in my Etsy shop......so go take a peak!

Happy Tuesday Everyone till next time.......Blessings to each and everyone!

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope that everyone had a terrific weekend! My husband and I took off and did a little bit of thrift store shopping, had breakfast out and just enjoyed being out of the house for awhile. I did find a handful of treasures, but it was slim pickins to say the least. I will post a pic of my finds a little later on.
Today I wanted to share with you a very talented artist......Denise of the PioneerLoft! If you get a moment drop in and visit her shop. Denise carrys a variety of primitive and cottage style items for your home, and I love her pillows and quilt creations. Here is what Denise had to share about herself and her products.

Pioneer Loft is my name. It's a name I came up with for my business years ago. We have a small farm and there is a plaque on the house that says "PIONEER HOUSE", since the house was built so long ago (1860). We have a barn, and I always had a liking of lofts in barns, so I put the two words together from that. (Plus I hope to have a store in our barn & loft one day!)

2. How long have you been on Etsy?

Since August of 2009

3. What type of items do you offer?

Mostly primitives, but some cottage items, too. I sew, stencil, and tole paint and my hubby makes small furniture with a prim finish. I love to make dolls the most, but do a lot of things from old quilts like tablerunners, candle mats, pillows, check book covers, ornaments & more.

4. How long have you been crafting?

I started sewing in 7th grade (that would be 1968) and made most all my clothes for years. When I stayed home after having my daughter in 1982, I did stitching crafts, but I didn't sell anything I made until later in the 80's. I also took quilting classes in 1987, but have only made quilts for personal use.

5. Who or What inspires you?

God. (Also seeing other great handmade prims!)

6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

Dolls & bears. I just love to create charater & life out of fabric.

7. Other places where you can be found (Ebay, webstore, blog)

We have a website at http://www.pioneerloft.com and a blog at http://www.pioneerloft.blogspot.com I sell on ebay infrequently, but my user name is thepioneerloft there.

Monday Marketplace!

Aren't these signs adorable! Today for my Monday Market I am featuring Dee of Icehousecrafts
I have several of Dee's signs and I can tell ya they are all terrific. She has such a wide variety to choose from, and she does custom work also! Please take a moment and get to know Dee and her work......you won't be disappointed!

1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name?

My etsy shoppe is called Icehousecrafts. I choose that name as when I started selling and buying online we lived in an old farmhouse of which was once an icehouse for the farm that we lived on. The walls in the icehouse part of the house were 24” thick stone. The farm was established in 1905.

2. How long have you been on Etsy?

I’ve been selling on etsy since February 2008.

3. What type of items do you offer?

Mostly on etsy I offer hand painted stenciled wood signs. I have also offered hand painted vintage pieces from time to time.

4. How long have you been crafting?

I’ve been doing crafts since I was a young girl...from crochet to macramé and finally to decorative painting. I’ve been painting fulltime since my middle son was a toddler so about 18 years for painting.

5. Who or What inspires you?

Customers are a great source for inspiration. They give you the framework for an idea and things just go from there.

6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

I have to say my favorite things in my etsy shoppe right now are my ouija board sign and wrong answer sign. The ouija board sign because as a young girl I was fascinated with “how” it worked. The wrong answer one, well it’s just obvious from looking at it as to why! LOL!

7. Other places where you can be found (Ebay, webstore, blog)

Good Morning All!
I wanted to post a new addition to my Etsy shop! This is a trash to treasure item that I found several months ago, and am finally getting it finished! I totally forgot to grab a before photo, but it was just raw wood when I got it. My first thought was it would make a great remote control holder! Don't know about you guys but we have "gadgets" everywhere and with the two areas seperated by the handle, it would be perfect for controllers, cell phones, small note books, well you get the idea! It is so hard to find some of these neat storage solutions to fit into our prim homes, and I think this would be perfect for many things.

We are looking at snow, and more snow........this is the wet, heavy, perfect snowman building snow that we rarely get here. Hopefully this is the last of it, as I am about snowed out.....:) Time for garden planning, and seeing pretty flowers popping out of the ground. Don't know about you but I can't wait! Hope everyone has a great Monday.......I am off to paint!!

I Am Having a Giveaway!

Good Sunday All!
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! I have been wanting to do a giveaway for awhile now, so I am finally getting to it. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do, and as I was organizing shelves the other day I came across this tissue holder/trinket box. These were wonderful sellers for me, but I only have one left, and rather then offer it in my shop, I would love to give it away!

This giveaway is a thank you to all my wonderful followers. So if you follow my blog(old and new) leave me a comment on this page, for one entry. If you wish, you can post it to your blog, for another chance to enter your name in the hat.

This is a neat tissue box holder, with a small drawer at the bottom. It is the perfect size to hold rings, watches, or any small item you don't want to loose track of.

Due to the size of this piece, this giveaway is only open to the United States only. Wish it could be different but it would cost a fortune to ship it International.

I wil be drawing a winner on March 14th so be watching......:)

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you all are doing well, and surviving all this snow. Some of you have had enough already. I cannot wait to look out my window to the day that I see green, and not white. Heck at this point I would settle for brown....:) I love the snow, but about this time of year, I grow weary of it. Now I am counting the days till I can open those windows, and get a wonderful breath of fresh spring air.

I have been super busy this week getting items painted for the Old Farmhouse Gathering Team's Spring Fling Celebration. This is a wonderful promotion that my street team does every year. If you are ready for some new prim goodies to bring spring to your home be sure to visit these gals......we have everything from bunnies, to tags, to easter eggs you name it. Just type in OFGSFC in the search bar on Etsy on the 15th of February, and all of these wonderful treasures will be available for sale.

I really enjoy painting on canvas. This one is 9x12 and has staple free sides, so no frame is needed. I have different art pieces throughout my home that I love to display on shelves, in grouping, or even something simple such as a plate holder, like I have done in this photo. This piece is full of detail, and was a joy to paint.

These are just a couple things that I have painted up for spring. Of course we had to have a new spring soap, but I really like these new little soap dishes that you can also purchase. They make a great gift set for any occasion. On this one I painted the soap holder to match the color of the bunny, and it is so prim.....love it.

There is nothing more delightful then some of Renee Mullins' designs. Here I have painted her adorable bunny on a rust tin pocket. I have a bar of soap that coordinates with this pocket in my Etsy shop. I filled it to the brim with pink and white pipberries, to add an extra spring time touch. They aren't glued in so you can remove them and fill this pocket with anything you wish.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's day, and you get a little extra dose of love and attention from your sweethearts! I am off to the studio today to work on a few more things, so I wish you all a great week, and til next time.........Blessings to each and everyone!

Monday Marketplace

Good Monday Morning Everyone! It is a cold morning here in my little town, and we woke up to more snow! I am not complaining though as it is a dusting compared to the photos I have seen on some of the blogs around the country! Mercy, time for spring for sure!

Today I am featuring Deb of Sugar Mountain Mercantile !
She does some wonderful fixins, and primitive soaps, along with stitcheries! I hope you enjoy getting to know Deb through her intereview below!

1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name?

The name of my shop is Sugar Mountain Mercantile, which I named for the mountain in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee on which I am blessed to have a beautiful log home getaway. I called it a "Mercantile" because I just knew I'd be offering up a wide variety of items, kind of like a general store.

2. How long have you been on Etsy?

Just over a year.

3. What type of items do you offer?

Well, it depends on how the mood strikes me! Nearly everything is holiday- themed, as I adore each and every holiday. I do machine and hand-embroidery, crochet, make primitive soaps, and I may list a few vintage items here and there. I haven’t yet filled my shop with what I really intend to sell. I also have plans to open a second shop in the near future, selling strictly baby items.

4. How long have you been crafting?

Gosh, ever since high school…I started out as a ceramics instructor in an after-school program for grade-schoolers..made me decide really quickly I did NOT want to be a teacher when I “grew up”!

5.Who or What inspires you?

Honestly, I am inspired and rejuvenated each and every time we go down to the cabin. It’s so peaceful and beautiful there, it would be hard not to be inspired. Every season has something to offer..the beautiful Fall colors, the snow-covered mountains in Winter, seeing the Spring flowers begin to bloom..and the beauty in Summer is just amazing!

6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

I always like listing glass-blocks, because each one has a personality of its own, depending on the graphics I use, and how I choose to decorate it. Plus they seem to sell well!

7. Other places where you can be found (Ebay, webstore, blog)

I don’t yet have a blog, but can be found on the following:

Happy Friday All!

I hope that everyone is having a great day today! It has been awhile since I have been able to post, but I have been visiting all your wonderful blogs, and saying hello when I can. We are in for more snow this weekend, so it is a good time for me to get some painting done. Seems on so many days life just gets in the way of that...:)
I did manage to get this design done by Terrye French. I placed it in a frame so I could post it, but I believe I will be painting it  a different color...... Prim it up some more don't ya think? Anyway I just love this design, and it was such a joy to paint.

Okay I took off the brown frame, painted it black and distressed, and l like this much better!

Another thing that I did accomplish this week was getting these cute little soap dishes painted. They are made of wood, and will come in any color you wish to match your decor. Made from wood, and oh so prim with a simple star. They have slats in the center so if you do wish to use it as an actual soap dish your soap has plenty of roon to drain....I love mine!

I have also been painting for my team's Spring Fling Celebration that is coming up in the next couple weeks. Our theme is Spring/Easter and I need to get three items done for that. I will post my contributions to that as soon as they are ready.

So what are everyone's plans for Super Bowl? I am doing up a bunch of appetizers and snacks and it is going to be just a relaxing day here at home. Hope everyone has a terrific weekend, and until next time.....Blessings to All

This adorable prairie doll is just a sampling of you what you will find at The Moonlit Stitch !

So grab a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage and enjoy the interview below with Lisa!

1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name?

I chose “The Moonlit Stitch” because often the only time to work on my projects is during the “moonlit” hours of the night or early morning when everyone else is sleeping!

2. How long have you been on Etsy?

I joined Etsy in February 2008. It’s a wonderful place to buy and sell handmade items and meet folks with similar interests, like the ladies of “Old Farmhouse Gathering”.

3. What type of items do you offer?

Primitive style make-do’s, dollfolk (snowmen, santas), ornies and bowl fillers.

4. How long have you been crafting?

I can remember crafting with my mom and grandma at a very young age and have never stopped!

5. Who or What inspires you?

Inspiration is all around us! I love the changing seasons.

6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

Currently I have some fabric candy canes in an old canning jar listed. I was selling these at a craft show recently and a gentleman looked at them and asked why I would put old fabric candy canes in a jar. I chuckled and said, “It’s a PRIMITIVE thing!”

7. Other places where you can be found:

I occasionally sell on ebay as “the*moonlit*stitch”

You can visit my blog at: www.themoonlitstitch.blogspot.com.

2. How long have you been on Etsy?

I joined the OFG group in the spring of 2008 but I have to confess that I haven't been very diligent in keeping my shop filled. I am trying really hard to correct that.

3. What type of items do you offer

Most of my items are handpainted and one of a kind. I love doing snowmen and santas and will be adding those to my shop along with more trash to treasure items and gourd head dolls.

4. How long have you been crafting?

I have been crafting since the mid 80's...I know, I'm old!! :-)

5. Who or What inspires you?

I am always inspired by and in awe of God's creation. His color palette amazes me.

6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

The favorite thing in my shop right now is my Lily and Jingle Bear primitive doll. But, that will change when I start adding my santas and other holiday items.

I have so many projects in different phases of completion, so I hope to bring more things to you this next coming week. So till next time........blessings to you my friends, and have a wonderful Sunday!

Monday Market

Good Monday Morning Blogging Friends! I hope this day finds you all well, and safe. My computer crashed big time a week ago. So ever since getting back I have been busy trying to reload everything. The rest of the week was spent cleaning, organizing, pitching things I no longer need, and of course some major tweaking. I just can't leave things anywhere for long. It is such fun though to see what different displays you can come up with just by moving something from one spot to another. Of course we all know how that goes, move one thing, and you end up doing it all day...:)

So my apology to you for not getting my Monday Market done last week, but here it is today and hope you enjoy.
Today I am featuring Janae Manley of Signs of Patriotism.

JaNae offers a variety of signs for your home, but her specialty is doing signs for our Armed Forces. Read her interview below, and visit JaNae's shop for even more wonderful signs!

1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name?

Signs of Patriotism, my son came up with this name when my crafts business evolved into a sign biz with a heavy emphasis on military signs.

2. How long have you been on Etsy? a year

3. What type of items do you offer? signs

4. How long have you been crafting? since 1996

5. Who or What inspires you? those who serve in the military and sacrifice for their country and the freedoms we enjoy

6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why? Home is Where the Military sends us - because it creates conversation between new and old friends and sparks great memories from different duty stations we have served.

7. Other places where you can be found (Ebay, webstore, blog) Ebay and website and several brick and mortar stores around the country.

Be sure to stop by JaNae's Etsy shop to see even more terrific items....you won't be disappointed!

Happy Friday!

As much as I love the holidays, I have never really painted alot for Valentine's Day, but I love all the wonderful bowl tucks and ornies I am seeing in blogland. Maybe that is what inspired me to do a little something at least. Anyone that has followed me for very long, knows how much I love painting on soap bars. I was in a painting challenge once where I had to use crackle medium, and I just loved how it looked, so one day I thought to myself, well I wonder if that would work on soap!

So I prepped my soap as always, and began experimenting. Now, many of my soaps go through a 7 step process, seems like allot for a bar of soap, but so worth it.I still keep them very affordable, and they have been one of my best sellers. So next time you get an idea, just play, the discoveries are what make creating fun!
If you are in need of a quick little gift for someone, be sure to stop over at my Etsy shop and take a look at the different soaps. More soap designs are in the planning stages, so I will be adding more soon! They come wrapped in cello bags with twist ties, all ready for gift giving!

I hope you all get a moment to spend some great quality time with your familes this weekend, and till next time............Blessings to All

Cute Valentine Offering!

Hi All! It seems like ages since I have posted! I know I have been busy but I am not real sure what I got accomplished. Have been getting things organized and ready for another year of painting, so my studio is ready for me to get productive.
After getting that all organized, I did sit down and get this piece done. It is a door crown that I have painted with a Deb Richey design. So primitive, and yet with the heart on the blanket it would make a great Valentine piece to display also!
I had so much fun adding the antique buttons to the penny rug tabs.....love the way it turned out!
I will be back soon with more things to show you....I have several projects in the works, so stay tuned and until the next time.......Blessings to one and all !

Welcome 2010!

I have always loved New Years Day! I make a big pot of chili every year, and  take the day as it comes. Very different from my normal daily routine. My husband and I spent a quiet evening at home to see the New Year in, so I just slept in a bit more then usual, and have spent most of the morning, visiting all the wonderful blogs.

Do you remember the excitement of the first day of school? Well maybe you weren't excited but I always was. Fresh new paper, sharpened pencils, and a fresh new start to a new school year. To this day a new notebook, journal, or now a blog page is still exciting to me. I can fill it with thoughts, ideas, plans, dreams, anything I wish.

I am like most of you.....I have dreams, wishes, goals, and good intentions, for 2010. Yep would love to lose some weight, excersize more, and all of the normal resolutions we all have, but my real desire for this year is to be more present in the moment of everyday living. With family, friends, a business to run, a home to care for, and the multitude of other things that enter our daily lives, I find myself scattered and missing some of the most wonderful moments with busyness.

So my wish for this year, is to connect more with my loved ones, prioritize what is really important, and just enjoy the journey of life. I would love to have you all join me, in sharing 2010 together. Looking forward to this year with all the enthusiasm of that first day of school, with that fresh new notebook, and today it started with sharing with all of you.

God's Blessings to Each and Everyone of my dear blogging friends! May this New Year, be filled with Joy, Blessings, and Love!

Happy New Year Everyone!!

I hope that everyone had a great Christmas season! I have so enjoyed reading all the wonderful blogs on what people do to celebrate, and the adorable photos too! I know I have some wonderful recipes to add to my collection from all of you also, and can't wait to try them all.
I have taken a break from painting for the past couple weeks, so I really have no photos to share, but I have so many things I want to do. I have been organizing, cleaning, and getting everything ready for the new season, and I am getting excited to get started again.
I have no hard and fast New Year resolutions, but I do want to be more focused on my business, and not let so many distractions interfere.....wish me luck.
So until next time......I wish everyone a very happy, safe and prosperous New Year, and as always......
Blessings to All
