Christmas is Coming!

I know I say this often, but wow time is sure flying by. Seems I just put away my Americana and here I am painting for the holidays! I just fell in love with this adorable design by Renee Mullins....I have been painting allot of her things this year.
I think this piece is my favorite so far. This is Christmas tree cutting board that was sent to me from a friend, that I have been wanting to get it painted for awhile now. This Terrye French design was perfect for it. I just love cutting boards of all shapes and sizes and I had never seen one this thick cut in the shape of a tree........love it!

I haven't had allot of time for ornaments this year, but I did get this mitten painted.....

and these rusty tin scoops done. Both of these designs are from Renee Mullins.

Last I have to show you my new soaps for this year. These have been so much fun to paint......
I hope you enjoy seeing them! It wouldn't be Christmas without gingerbread at our house. That is my grandson's favorite cookie to make every year....:)
Fell in love with this little guy's adorable face.....

and of course what is Christmas without Santa......

As you can see the brushes have been flying, and I have more to post in a week or so. I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I have been up to. Painting wouldn't be half as fun if I didn't have great blog friends to share things with. Thanks so much to all my faithful readers you are indeed a true blessing!
Till next time........God Bless

It's Been Awhile.....

Hello Everyone!! It has been awhile since I have had an opportunity to get back to my blog! I am hoping that I can change that in the next coming weeks. Tis the season for getting products to customers and making new items, so I wanted to share a few that I have done in the past couple weeks.
This door crown was my first one of this season, and is a design by Terrye French. I was thrilled with how it turned out.

This sweet little fella was painted for a customer. Another Terrye French design, with some
glitter glass added to the bottom for that extra holiday bling!

Of course it wouldn't be Christmas if I didn't add some new soaps for the season!

These sweet designs are from Renee Mullins and were just perfect for my soaps!

I am busy working on some new ornaments, and lots more holiday items so I hope you visit again soon to see what new things I am working on.......and thanks so much for stopping by today!

New Fall Items!

I hope this post finds everyone well, and enjoying these last days of summer. The weather here has just been fantastic! You can feel a nip in the air, some trees are already dropping their leaves, and Fall will be here before we know it. I have had the best time painting for Fall and Halloween this year and I always enjoy sharing with you. This door crown or shelf sitter is a pattern by one of my favorite designers, Terrye French. Just a few haunted houses to add to your Halloween decor......so fun!

The other piece that I was able to finish up today was another Terrye French design but this one is geared for fall. Love the way this one turned out.....hope you do too.

Till Next time..........God Bless!

Thursday, August 18, 2011

We have been experiencing such gorgeous weather here for the past few days! It has really gotten me motivated to paint for the upcoming Fall and Halloween season. As most know, Fall is my favorite time of year, not only for the crisp and cool mornings but for the splendor of the color palette.
Brown, rust, gold and black are some of my all time favorite colors, so it is pure joy to paint these wonderful projects.
This tray was a special order request by a customer and using a Terrye French design it was just what she was looking for.......:)
This isn't fall but the design was perfect for a primitive mail holder for that primitive decorated office.
Nothing says prim then the elements used here in a design by Marie Provost. Thanks Marie for always designing such cute patterns!
I love to paint on just about any surface but canvas has to be my all time favorite. Primitive or Folk art inspired canvas paintings can be quite pricey as I found out searching for primitive art for my own home. I have paintings on wood, signs, and flea market collectibles etc, but there is just something special about a framed piece of art. I love to see them in groupings on walls or even displayed on an end table or cabinet. This is a new design by Terrye French and as always Terrye never disappoints with her designs......thanks Terrye!
I just had to paint a new mousepad for the season too......this was based on a design by Renee Mullins. My computer is in my studio, so I always paint a new one for myself......love how this one turned out
This one was just too fun for words! Nothing says prim more then a make-do and Terrye has outdone herself with this fabulous design. Pumpkins, bats, cats, lots of fun Halloween in this piece.
I have a few more items that I would like to complete for the fall and Halloween season and then it will be on to Christmas...yikes....it will be here before we know it.
I hope you take a moment to enjoy these last days of summer.......I know many are busy getting their children back to school and it is such a busy time........but take a moment and enjoy.......till next time......
God Bless

Look What I Won!!!

Isn't this the cutest? Cathy at Tolentreasures had an awesome giveaway and I won second place!!
I have long been a fan of Cathy's work so I was just thrilled to have been selected to win this adorable plaque. Cathy is such a talented painter and it is an honor to display her work in my studio!
But it gets even better...........:)

Look what Cathy also sent me.....it was like Christmas here as I unwrapped all these wonderful things that she included. Since we are both painters she sent a recipe box, two jumbo clips, a small journal and the two painting mediums for me to paint up. Also included this adorable star plate that she painted, a jar of buttons all decorated with stars on the lid, waxed clothespins, and one of my very favorites.....a penny rug!!

If you love painted items, penny rugs, caps, mittens, you name it, Cathy creates them! Please take a moment and pop over to her blog.....you won't be disappointed! Oh and did I mention.....Cathy is also a great story teller.....her ability to turn everyday events into such fun reading is amazing!

Thanks again Cathy!!! This was truly a fantastic giveaway, and I love each and every item!

Having Some Fall Fun!

While we are suffering through these hot temps here in our area, I have been having the best time painting for my favorite season of all......Fall!!!
I just completed this one and what fun it was to paint. This is a Terrye French design and offers a bit of everything in one painting.
I found this funnel at a garage sale this summer and decided to paint it up for the Fall season also.
This is a design by Renee Mullins and I have painted the fall leaves all the way around it,then added a grapevine wreath and fall tag to the top.
So many things to paint......so little time......:)
In between painting I have been busy trying to keep up with the flower garden this year. This is the first year I have ever dealt with beetles on my roses, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that I won! Boy they are stubborn little buggers!

I have made a new space behind the garden bench for a climbing rose...can't wait to see that new addition, but beetles first........:)

This is where I start my day. It is quiet, peaceful, and inspiring.

We are headed into quite the heat wave this week, so this weekend will be filled to the brim with all our outdoor projects, so that next week I can focus on painting, and staying cool.
I have so many things I want to show you.......so stay tuned!
Everyone have a terrific week, be smart if your in this heat wave, take good care of yourselves, and your neighbors.......till next time........God Bless!

Americana Anyone?

Hi Everyone! Hope you all are having a terrific Sunday. It is a gorgeous day here today so I spent my morning outside munching donuts, sipping coffee and just enjoying the sounds of summer. We have had so much rain, that just seeing the sunshine is a true blessing.
Just in time for the July 4th holiday coming up, I did get a couple of new things painted. This is a new design by Terrye French and was just perfect for this serving tray. This was a whole lot of fun to paint, and I love the way it turned out.
I have been doing some canvas painting here of late, and have really enjoyed it. This is another Terrye French design that I couldn't wait to paint. Painting Americana has always been a love of mine, and this was no exception.
I am now starting some new fall things as I am gearing up for a Celebration with my Etsy Team the Old Farmhouse Gathering.
Stop back by this week to see my entries, and an update on the Celebration!!
Have a wonderful Sunday my friends......and God Bless!!

Sharing My Garden

It has been awhile since I have had a chance to blog. At this time of year, I lay my paint brushes down, and take up my second love......gardening. It is always such a pleasure for me to choose the new annuals, make up the flower baskets, and decide what new additions are going to be made for the year.
Since removing a couple of dying trees, it has opened a section of the garden for me to grow roses, and I couldn't be more thrilled.

This portion of the garden is in full sun, so I have so many options.......need to lay more mulch but it is
pretty much complete now.

This is a view of my shade garden. I simply love hostas. This is the perfect place to start your day......a cup of coffee, the sound of the cascading water, and it is simply paradise to me.
I am really anxious for the honeysuckle to fill out.......it bloomed beautifully this year, but needs to grow a little fuller to fill in this corner of the garden.
This is not a great photo of my gourd......but my friend Donna painted this for me and I just love it. Adds just a touch of whimsy......perfect!
One of the new additions this year was some foxglove. I needed a bit of color in this area, and I am anxious to see them grow and fill out.

So now I am ready to just sit back and relax, and enjoy my spring garden. In about three weeks I will have more photos to share as my summer perennials start to bloom. Now it is back to the studio to work on some new projects I will be sharing with you shortly.
Until next time......God Bless
