It's Been A Long Time!

It has been such a long time since I have posted to my blog! Like all good intentions I hope to do much better in the coming months.

I can hardly believe that it is time for Christmas painting already......as I am still enjoying the beautiful weather and colors of fall. I found this old metal coal shovel at an estate sale and had such fun painting it. I love this Santa by Cyndi Combs and I think it fit this surface wonderfully!

For those of you that are new to my blog, all of my painted creations can be found in my Etsy shop!
Some of my items are One of A Kind creations such as the Santa shovel, but many can be reproduced so never hesitate to ask!

Wishing you all a wonderful week.........till next time........God Bless!

It won't be long now and we will be getting ready to decorate for Fall. Everyone knows that is my favorite time of year, and most of all my favorite season to paint. I just love the warm color palette of browns, golds, and deep oranges. I can't wait for the sweatshirts, crunching leaves, and the glorious crisp mornings!

The items that I have to show you today are all patterns done by Martha Smalley. They can be purchased in her Etsy shop or on the Painting With Friends website!

If you love chickens, then this would make a great addition to your collection for Fall!
Anyone up for Pumpkin Pancakes?

I did a texture technique of beiges and whites to give the background some depth. Martha used a beautiful stencil on hers, but since I didn't have one handy I improvised......:) I just love the sheep's blanket!

I so hope you are enjoying these last days of summer!
Till Next Time.......God Bless!

After such a long time of not blogging, I am delighted to return. Life happens and found I  needed to step away for a time, and get priorities in order. I am hoping in the next few days to catch up with you all and visit your wonderful blogs.......I have missed so much!

Although it is the end of July it has been time to start painting for Fall. As always so many things to paint and so little time to do it all. But I wanted to share a couple rusty tin pumpkins that I have completed to get the season started. This one is a Renee Mullins design.

This sweet scarecrow couldn't scare anyone least of all the crow on his pants! I love working with Marie Provost designs.....they are always so very sweet!

I have some work to finish on these little mini canvases but wanted to share. I make them into ornaments for theme trees, or they can be used for basket ties, or added to cabinet doors for the season. I still need to add the eye hooks and hangers and add them to my Etsy shop.

I hope you have enjoyed my new items.......and it is great to be back painting on a regular basis. I will have many more things to show you so I hope you are a frequent visitor!
Till Next Time.........God Bless!

It has been so long since I have been able to get back to my blog....I have missed it! I wish that I could say that I have defined my goals for the year but I honestly can't say I did which is very different for me. I made the decision to let each day unfold into what it is meant to be...... and to paint what I love.

I have wanted to paint this design from the moment I saw it. That is the one thing I love about January.....things slow down and I have the time to paint those "someday" designs that the busier part of the year never allow for. This is another sweet design from Terrye French and is one of my favorites.
In my travels to find unique items to paint on I came across 4 antique sewing drawers last summer. They are so unique to use throughout the home. I have one that I use in my bath to hold rolled up washcloths, but I have seen them decorated with rag balls, bowl fillers, used to hold office supplies....the ideas are endless. This sweet design is by Marie Provost......love her designs!

Blessings To All...

Happy Monday Everyone! It is a gorgeous fall day here today....little on the nippy side, but the sun is shining, and it is so welcome after the wet and dreary weekend. It was a great time to get some painting done though so I wanted to share a couple of the items I completed.
This is an old coal shovel that I discovered at one of my favorite antique shops. This adorable Terrye French design was just perfect for it. I topped it off with artificial greens a rusty jingle bell and a tag that says "Believe".

Sandy Holman designed this sweet snowgal.......all dressed up in her winter finery. I painted this on a wood heart that has a heavy wrought iron hanger.

As always so many things to paint.....so little time. Here is wishing you all a great start to the new week.....enjoy this beautiful fall weather!
Till next time.........God Bless

Hi Everyone! I know it has been a very long time since I made a post. I made the decision to take the summer off as it is such a busy time for me and family, but I have truly missed all of you here in
blogland and I am back!

I did do some painting over the summer as I was truly blessed with a very busy summer of sales, but now it is holiday time and I have been having a great time painting for Fall, Halloween and the holidays.

I painted this sweet design by Cyndi Combs as one of my entries for the Old Farmhouse Gathering's
Christmas and Winter Celebration. As always is can be found in my Etsy shop!

The Old Farmhouse Gathering Team has geared up for their Winter Wonderland Celebration!! I hope you all can take a moment to visit and see the wonderful creations by these great artists.

What would the holidays be without a cute Santa! I painted this on an 8x10 canvas panel and added the black frame. For this Celebration I used designs from Cyndi Combs. You can purchase Cyndi's designs here.....

I love the kittys that were included in this cute snowman design. The background of this painting is the same as for Santa above. They work wonderfully for table tops and fireplaces as they both come with easels on the back.

Till next time.......God Bless!

I finally got a chance to do a little painting!! This adorable design by Niomi Draper has been on my "to do" list for awhile. I painted it on a wood door crown and was so pleased with the way it turned out!! Its available for sale in my Etsy shop. Click Primgals Primitive Palette on the photo for a larger view.
I hope to get a few more pieces painted to share with you soon so thanks for visiting, and until next time.....
God Bless!

I can't believe how long it has been since I blogged! With the wonderful weather we have been having I have spent every moment possible working in the garden. Our garden is always a work in progress, as we clean, transplant, mulch and add new plants and flowers. We still have more to go but I do enjoy taking photos as we move along in the season. I hope you enjoy seeing what we have done so far.

The cute pink metal garden stake was one of my gifts this year from the grandchildren. It was just the perfect punch of color while we wait for the other things to bloom. My garden is primarily a perennial garden, so we do have something blooming all the time, but lots of green too especially in the shaded area of the garden.

I just love my chicken gourd. This was painted for me by my dear friend Donna Blasssingham. I love the whimsical element among the hostas.

The lillies are just starting to bloom......they have to be one of my favorite flowers!

The roses are just gorgeous this year. This bush is one of my favorites as it blooms just about all season long.
I will be adding more photos as the garden progresses through the summer season. Until them I am wishing you a very blessed day! Until next time.......God Bless!

Good Morning Blog Friends! Wow it has been awhile since I have been able to post. I have been blessed beyond measure with lots of work this past month, so I have been working feverishly on orders, but the past couple days have allowed me a chance to paint a couple of new things and I wanted to share. I have been having a great time painting these small prim canvases. Sometimes you just need that little extra something and of course no prim home is complete without a saltbox or two. This design by Marie Provost is one of my favorites.

This Terrye French design is so sweet! Such fun painting these cute chickens! Each has a distint personality of their own, and would look wonderful in any room!

Summer will be here before we know it, although today is quite chilly. We actually dipped to freezing temps overnight. So thinking ahead to barbeques, gardening, and just some fun in the sun, I painted this Americana sheep by Terrye French. Lots of wonderful summertime detail in this piece!

This Americana door crown has been on my to do list since last year, and I finally had a chance to get it painted. Love the way it turned out!

I hope that all of you had a Blessed Easter Holiday!
Till next time.......God Bless!

Wishing for Spring!

Isnt this the cutest design by Marie Provost? I just love painting Marie's sweet designs and this was no execption. It has such a soft shale green background and could be added just about anywhere in anticipation of spring!

There just isn't enough hours in the day to paint all the wonderful designs that come from Terrye French's "Painting With Friends". I just finished this one yesterday and love the way it turned out.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week! I am headed back to the studio to do a few more projects before I head out to enjoy some of this wonderful sunshine we have here today!
Till next time.......God Bless!

Finished Friday Projects

Hi All!! Hope everyone has had a good week and are looking forward to a great weekend.
I wanted to share a few projects that I got done this week. I love primitive dolls, and so admire the many talented doll makers here in blogland. I don't sew any longer so the next best thing for me was to paint some. This design is by Terrye French and is available for purchase in my Etsy shop.

My husband and I spent the better part of last Sunday(before the Super Bowl game...:)) cleaning and rearranging all of my collected "stash" projects, and its amazing what you forget you have. So I decided this week to start working on at least one or two of those items a week....so I won't feel too guilty bringing home even more. This tissue box has a design by Kim Klasson and will fit a long box of tissues......love it!

Another stash item that was really fun to do. This recipe box would be perfect in any primitive kitchen and when you lift the lid there is a space to hold your recipe card. Note to self....I really need to get my own recipes organized!

I had a request from a customer of mine to do up some of these coasters, so I did an extra set while I was at it. These coasters are rather different as they are not made of wood. They are made from mousepad material and I love the way the non slip backing not only keeps your drinks from sliding, with the rubber backings they really protect your furniture too.

It is a pretty day here today.....the sun is shining, and no sign of any snow. We have truly been blessed with a very mild winter, but I am still looking forward to spring coming soon. I hope you are having great weather where you are, and wishing you all a very blessed weekend!
Till next time......God Bless!

Happy Monday!!

Good Morning Blog friends! We have snow on the ground and it is a bit chilly here today, but for an Illinois winter we sure can't complain. Hope it is nice where you are too!

I have been using the month of January to simplify and organize my studio, and that has brought forth a few changes. Like any self respecting crafter I have too much "STUFF" and it was becoming overwhelming. So I have been busy reorganizing, pitching, and rethinking how I really want to proceed in this new year.
I don't know about you all, but I have more painting surfaces then I will ever paint in a life time. It is so hard to let go of those "but I might paint that later" piece! I know so many of you can relate....:)
So decisions had to be made and I asked myself the hard questions......what do you love to paint on the most......and that answer was very surprising since I am such a primitive gal, but my true first love is canvas. So I have been working on some new pieces that I wanted to share.

This large 8x10 canvas is a sweet design from Kim Klasson. All of the canvas pieces include the frames and are available in my Etsy shop. I really have enjoyed painting these and will be doing many more in the next few months.
Wishing you all a great start to a new week........full of good things and lots of blessings......
Till next time......God Bless

Share the Love Celebration on OFG

I have been busy of late creating new things for the Share the Love Celebration on Etsy! http://www.etsy.com/search?search_submit=&q=stlc&view_type=gallery&ship_to=US

We have some awesome creations to share with you so I hope you get a moment to stop by!
Here are some of the items that I created, hope you enjoy!
Nothing says love more then a heart! I crackled this soap for an aged appearance, and love how it turned out!

This sweet canvas has been painted with a Terrye French design. A combination of Valentine's Day and Spring in this one!
Another Terrye French design that was painted on this wooden plaque.
Last but not least my favorite! I don't usually paint for Valentine's Day so this has been something different and lots of fun.
I hope you find lots of Valentine treasures when you join our Celebration!

Until next time.........God Bless!!

Christmas is Coming!

I know I say this often, but wow time is sure flying by. Seems I just put away my Americana and here I am painting for the holidays! I just fell in love with this adorable design by Renee Mullins....I have been painting allot of her things this year.
I think this piece is my favorite so far. This is Christmas tree cutting board that was sent to me from a friend, that I have been wanting to get it painted for awhile now. This Terrye French design was perfect for it. I just love cutting boards of all shapes and sizes and I had never seen one this thick cut in the shape of a tree........love it!

I haven't had allot of time for ornaments this year, but I did get this mitten painted.....

and these rusty tin scoops done. Both of these designs are from Renee Mullins.

Last I have to show you my new soaps for this year. These have been so much fun to paint......
I hope you enjoy seeing them! It wouldn't be Christmas without gingerbread at our house. That is my grandson's favorite cookie to make every year....:)
Fell in love with this little guy's adorable face.....

and of course what is Christmas without Santa......

As you can see the brushes have been flying, and I have more to post in a week or so. I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I have been up to. Painting wouldn't be half as fun if I didn't have great blog friends to share things with. Thanks so much to all my faithful readers you are indeed a true blessing!
Till next time........God Bless
