Americana Anyone?

Hi Everyone! Hope you all are having a terrific Sunday. It is a gorgeous day here today so I spent my morning outside munching donuts, sipping coffee and just enjoying the sounds of summer. We have had so much rain, that just seeing the sunshine is a true blessing.
Just in time for the July 4th holiday coming up, I did get a couple of new things painted. This is a new design by Terrye French and was just perfect for this serving tray. This was a whole lot of fun to paint, and I love the way it turned out.
I have been doing some canvas painting here of late, and have really enjoyed it. This is another Terrye French design that I couldn't wait to paint. Painting Americana has always been a love of mine, and this was no exception.
I am now starting some new fall things as I am gearing up for a Celebration with my Etsy Team the Old Farmhouse Gathering.
Stop back by this week to see my entries, and an update on the Celebration!!
Have a wonderful Sunday my friends......and God Bless!!

Sharing My Garden

It has been awhile since I have had a chance to blog. At this time of year, I lay my paint brushes down, and take up my second love......gardening. It is always such a pleasure for me to choose the new annuals, make up the flower baskets, and decide what new additions are going to be made for the year.
Since removing a couple of dying trees, it has opened a section of the garden for me to grow roses, and I couldn't be more thrilled.

This portion of the garden is in full sun, so I have so many options.......need to lay more mulch but it is
pretty much complete now.

This is a view of my shade garden. I simply love hostas. This is the perfect place to start your day......a cup of coffee, the sound of the cascading water, and it is simply paradise to me.
I am really anxious for the honeysuckle to fill out.......it bloomed beautifully this year, but needs to grow a little fuller to fill in this corner of the garden.
This is not a great photo of my gourd......but my friend Donna painted this for me and I just love it. Adds just a touch of whimsy......perfect!
One of the new additions this year was some foxglove. I needed a bit of color in this area, and I am anxious to see them grow and fill out.

So now I am ready to just sit back and relax, and enjoy my spring garden. In about three weeks I will have more photos to share as my summer perennials start to bloom. Now it is back to the studio to work on some new projects I will be sharing with you shortly.
Until next time......God Bless

Happy Monday!!

Good Morning!! Hope everyone had a great weekend......it was cold and raining here so it was a great weekend to get a couple new projects done.
Although it seems we are still waiting for spring, I was inspired to start doing some Americana painting for the summer. I spent an entire day just plannng on what I would like to make for the season, and this cutting board was first on the list.
I have had this cutting board in my "stash" for quite some time, and I felt it was the perfect surface for this new design by Terrye French.

I have really enjoyed dabbling in painting samplers. There is nothng more primitive to me then a handstitched sampler, but I never seem to find the time to stitch anymore, and I seriously need to change that. I am just in awe of the beautiful stitchery I see on all your blogs. For now though I at least got one painted.....and have several more I would like to do before the years end.

So what is everyone doing today? I am going to spend the day in my studio, and then hopefuly see a little sunshine and work in the garden later this afternoon. My goal is always to have the flower garden done by Memorial Weekend so time is drawing close. Wishing everyone a gorgeous spring day wherever you are and as always until next time...........God Bless!!

Rise and Shine!

Good Morning All!! I sure wish it was a rise and shine morning...:) As with so many of us across the nation, it is our fourth day in a row of rain and cloudy skies. So since I can't get out and work in the yard or garden, I have been puttering here and there with projects in the house, and I also got this door crown painted.
I love painting folk art chickens......the more colorful the better....:)
This new design by Terrye French was perfect for this door crown. Since I find myself tweaking my home all the time, I love to do pieces that can be utilized in different areas. This looks fab over a doorway, but can also stand on its own in cabinets or in a shelf gathering......love it!
Prayers and well wishes going out to my blogging friends that are suffering the effects of this awful weather. I pray that all of you are safe and doing well. Until next time........God Bless!

Happy Monday All!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend! We spent time with our family on Saturday, so our actual Easter was rather quiet and restful. We have been so very busy, that having a day to just relax was the perfect way to celebrate the wonderful Easter time of renewal.
I don't have any photos to share, as I have been rather occupied with family these past few weeks, but I am looking forward to doing some new pieces very soon. It is a rainy day here today and will remain so for the next few days, so I am crossing my fingers to get some painting done...:)
Also on the to-do list is spring cleaning!! Spring has really taken its time getting here this year, so I did too......now to get motivated and get it done before the really nice days come along that will pull my focus outside to even more projects I hope to accomplish this year.
I did enjoy spending some time out in the gardens Sunday, cleaning out beds, and preparing everything for new season. This is my favorite part of spring....watching all the wonderful flowers returning and beginning to bud.
So stay tuned as I will be sharing photos of my garden as I can, and more new painted items for my Etsy shop! Have a wonderful Monday......and as always God Bless!

It's Been Awhile.....

Hi All!!! It has been awhile since I posted last. Life has been rather hectic here of late, but I have been trying to stay current with visiting your blogs, and leaving comments when I can. I am hoping for things to calm down some, and allow me to get back on a normal schedule, but we all know how that goes.
In the meantime though I have had an opportunity to get a few new pieces done. This door crown above is one of Terrye French's new spring designs, and I just had to paint it. Vintage buttons have been added to the penny rug border, for a little different twist.

I found this old metal spatula at a tag sale. I painted it black, and added this white chicken design...another design by Terrye French. Have to ever found some of these old things, and wondered what stories they could tell? This piece had been well used, and it was fun to give it a new life as a decorative item for someone's home.

I also painted up this wood holder that was another trash to treasure project. I have several more pieces that I would like to complete using these cute chickens, so hopefully within the next couple of weeks I will have more to share. These are all available for purchase in my Etsy shop.

Till next time.......God Bless!!

Thank You Dawn!

Hey Blogging Buddies! I so apologize for being gone so long! We were blessed with a surprise visit from my step-son from Arizona, and it was a wonderful two weeks filled with grandchildren, school activities, and just good old family time. So for the past few days I have been trying to play catch-up and get back into a normal routine.

During my time away I was one lucky gal! I was notified that I was the winner of The Pipberry Tree giveaway! I was just thrilled when my package arrived from Dawn. She sent me 7 bars of her wonderful handmade soap, all decorated in a darling little basket attached with the sweetest note.
As you can see from the picture..one bar of soap is missing.....yep, couldn't wait to try my new soaps out so I could tell you all about them. I have always wanted to try handmade soap, and let me tell ya this soap is beyond awesome! In my basket I received
Hazelnut Coffee
Lime Thyme
Lavender
Woody
Fresh Scent
Green Tea and Lemongrass
And the one that is missing is Chamomile Sage......

If you love handmade soap or would like to try it, please visit Dawn's shop on Etsy or visit her blog
News from the Pipberry Tree  http://pipberrytree.blogspot.com

Thanks so much again Dawn for the opportunity to win this fantastic giveaaway! You have a customer for life, as I am a true convert to handmade soap!!

Happy Friday!

Good Morning Everyone! Yea it is Friday, and the weatherman says we are in for some warmer temps for the weekend....finally!!!
It has been a great week with my mailman! First he brought me my giveaway winnings from
Harvest Moon Prims! Aren't these Valentine hearts just the cutest? Not only did I receive the three hearts, but Marilyn also included these awesome heart candle melts. The scent is divine!
Thanks so much Marilyn.......I just love it all!

This photo are all the wonderful goodies I received from Julie, at PrimCountryCreations. We had a supply swap on our Old Farmhouse Gathering Etsy Team, and I can't wait to get these all painted up. She sent a ladle, rusty tin hearts, twine, sanding blocks, a big jingle bell, frame, and two adorable gourd birdhouses. Thanks Julie, this swap was so much fun!!

I did get a few new things painted since I was here last. I just love door crowns.....and these are a great size to fit over any window or door. Since my husband and I downsized from a large farmhouse to a small home here in town, space as you can imagine is very limited, so I love to take advantage of any type of display space, and these are just perfect for that.

I don't know about you, but I have candle supplies everywhere, and when I saw this adorable design by Marie Provost, I just had to paint it. Now I have a great space to store all my melts, tea lights, and candles. I made one for myself, and another for my Etsy shop.

I did get another cutting board done too....this was painted on a yard sale find of a few years back, and love the way it turned out. Cutting boards are one of my all time favorite things to paint on......so prim and they fit perfectly into any kitchen or dining room. This one is another Marie Provost design.

So it has been a busy week here, and I have new projects al laid out to get completed for next week......so hope you stop back by and see what I have been up to. In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend ahead.........God Bless!
