Getting Ready for the New Year

I hope that everyone had a super special Christmas season with friends and family. We had a wonderful time, but it sure was gone in a blink of an eye, and now I have been getting things put away and getting ready for the New Year.
As part of my Christmas present, I went shopping online on Etsy, and this is what I bought. My husband never knows just what I want when it comes to prims, so I get to pick my own out and it is so much fun.
I just fell in love with this candle shelf, and I found it at Teresas Prim Treasures. Her husband only makes these in the spring, and she had two left. Mine is made of barnwood and is done in a pewter finish and isn't is awesome? Just love the iron nails as hangers.
I then went to my one of my all time favorite shops on Etsy, and purchased the sweet candle bag. This was done by Denise of Sawdustys Cabin.
Both of these ladies offer some wonderful prim creations, and their customer service is top notch. I am sure you won't leave without finding something you just have to have...:)

I have so enjoyed taking these past couple of days and visiting all the wonderful Christmas blogs. I am never disappointed at the amount of creativity my blog friends are willing to share, from decorating ideas, recipes, and my favorite......makeovers. You are all such inspirations!!

Today is my husband and I's anniversary, so we are going to get ready here in a short while and do a day of shopping, and then out for dinner. So I wanted to take a moment here this morning to wish you all a very blessed New Year, and I hope all of your dreams come true in 2011.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!

Whatcha Working On Wednesday

Yesterday I had the afternoon free, so I got to paint something fun. A friend of mine had made these muslin stockings for me last year and I never got the chance to paint them. Well yesterday I came across them, and had so much fun doing something different. I normally do not paint on fabric, but these may have changed my mind....:)

I have so many ideas swimming around in my head for them, and I am hoping to get a couple more done today. These are based on a design from Kim Klasson, and are large enough to hold about four candy canes, or to fill with hershey kisses.  What a cute add on gift these would make to packages!

It is bitterly cold here today in Illinois......so hope everyone stays warm and has a wonderful Wednesday!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Good Morning Friends! My I can't believe how long it has been since I posted. This has been one of the busiest crafting seasons ever, but I think I am starting to finally catch up! Since I have been painting primarily for shops this year, I sure haven't had a chance to do much for my Etsy shop, but I am hoping to get a few new things added this week.

I have so enjoyed looking at all the fabulous decorated homes! The creativity that is shown is just incredible. So although I haven't had a chance to post much myself, I have been visiting you all, and leaving comments when I can.

I did have a cute blog button made for me by Deena of  http://www.etsy.com/people/ewenmegraphics
Thanks so much Deena I just love it! Be sure to visit Deena's shop for some awesome Christmas graphics! So help yourself to my button if you wish to!

Just wanted to pop in and say hello, and now it is off to the studio to create some new things!
God Bless!

Hi All!! It is been like Santa's workshop here lately, as I have been preparing for the holiday season. I have been painting non stop trying to fill orders, and supply my retailers. I did get three new items painted that I wanted to show you  though. This mousepad was a special order for a customer that wanted a holiday mousepad, but it had to be prim, so I painted up this adorable design from Katrina Roncin. I do have these available in my Etsy shop now also.

This is the last of my mini cutting board peg hook ornies. This was also done with a Terrye French design and can be found in my Etsy shop. This is part of a new pattern designed by Terrye, but my friend Julie did the original painting. You can read Julie's post here.....
I just changed mine up a bit to be a penny rug, and love the way it turned out!

This last piece I found in an antique store this fall. This unique scoop is all handcarved, and I just had to have it. I painted it with another of Terrye's designs so that it could be used for the entire winter season. This was a OOAK piece, and has already sold.

We did an ornament swap on the Old Farmhouse Gathering Team, and this is a photo of my wonderful gifts! Barb, of Barbsheartstrokes painted these wonderful pieces. I am just thrilled with all of them, and a great big thank you again to Barb! If you would like to see more of Barb's work just click her button on my sidebar, you won't be disappointed!
Well folks I must bring this to a close for today......so much to do so little time......:)
Blessing to each and everyone of you!! Have a great upcoming weekend!

Happy Sunday All!

I got up to early this morning, how about you? I had totally forgotten about the time change, till my husband who had to work today told me it was only 4:00!! Oh well more time to paint, so that is what I have been doing.  I found this vintage butter paddle at one of my favorite antique shops, and couldn't wait to paint it. So in deciding what to paint, I am thinking...butter, cookies, gingerbread.....so I used this cute design by Terrye French, added it to an antique white background, distressed it so the wood would show through, and added a homespun tie, and hang tag...... and it turned out great!

Here is another of those mini cutting boards I found this summer at a resale shop. They are just 7" in length, but are just like the usual size cutting board. They look so cute on kitchen themed trees, or any primitive tree for that matter. Also thought they would make great additions to those peg racks we all love. Sadly I could only find three, so I only have one more left that I can paint.

While I was in snowman mode, I finally got this piece finished. I had started it over a week ago, and I don't know where the time went. Well yes I do......I was blessed with many orders last week, along with trying to fill a large wholesale order, so my fun time to paint had to wait. Anyway this is a design from Renee Mullins, and her snowmen are some of the cutest around.

I did work on a handful of new ideas for my soaps too. I love holly, it is one of my favorite things to decorate with during the holidays, So of course I had to paint some on this bar of soap.

I did one like this a few years back, only changed the background to be just a little less prim. This guy is all dressed up for winter with his fancy scarf, carrying his snowflake. Nothing is more prim then a crow....:)

Everyone knows how much I love my stars, so I had to have something something for the holidays too.  I simply added a garland of everygreen boughs, to the prim stars, a few berries, and it is holiday prim!

This time of year is what I call crazy making........between my online business, home, family, and preparing for the holidays I sometime meet myself coming and going. So today with this cute little soap, remember to simplify all you can.....so that you can enjoy the holidays yourself, and each other......
Happy Sunday and Blessings to All!!!

New Item!

Hi All!! I wanted to share a piece that I just completed over the weekend. A friend of mine sent me a wooden tray, and said she knew I would find something perfect to paint on it. Well after staring at it forever I chose this design by Terrye French. I wanted the piece to look very aged, so I painted it an antique white, and then aged and distressed it. The background had to look just as old so I spent quite some time getting it just the way I wanted it, and it looks to have been around grandma's house for a good long while.......I am pleased.

My goal this holiday season is to paint a new piece everyday, and I have been working  hard to achieve that goal. In between orders, and everyday life it proves to be quite the challenge on some days. I have so many ideas floating around in my head, I just hope I get the opportunity to share some more of them with you soon. Have a Wonderful Tuesday and as always.......God Bless.

I know it has been forever since my last post! I have been so busy getting ready for the Winter Holiday Celebration that will be held by my Etsy Team, The OldFarmhouse Gathering! I will be back with more details later on but in the meantime I wanted to share my submissions with you. It has been great fun working on Winter items, and here are just a few....:)

These small sugar mold candleholders are one of my favorite holiday items to paint on. Sadly I am down to my last two, and can get no more. This one I have painted with a design from Renee Mullins and I just love the softness of the colors.

I have so many ornaments, and yet every year there are always new ones that I just have to have. This is a new design by Renee, that I just love. This photo does not due this piece justice. It shimmers and sparkles with Glamour Dust and is just beautiful!

This is one of my new soap designs for the season. I am in the process of working on a few more and will be posting them soon. This one is another Renee Mullin design and is one of my all time favorites.

Now these are a little different.....they are mini cutting boards I found at a local thrift shop this summer. They are perfect ornament size, but I when I found them, I thought oh how cute they would be hanging from peg hooks too! We all love to swap out our decor for the holidays and these would be perfect on peg hooks, our trees, or even a very special name tag! This design is from Terrye French, and I hope to have at least one more design to choose from in the next week or so.

So the brushes are flying, and I will be back real soon with more holiday items I have in the works!
I hope this post finds everyone happy, safe and well. God Bless!!

Things That Go Bump In The Night

Happy Labor Day Weekend Everyone! We are enjoying fall like weather here today, and it is glorious after the awful ongoing heat of the summer. So what is everyone doing on this last holiday of summer? We are going to a family gathering later on this afternoon, but before we go I wanted to share a couple things that I have been working on for our "Halloween Celebration" on my Etsy Team. We will be launching almost a hundred new Halloween items, tomorrow September 6th, so I hope you get a moment to come and shop! Simply go to Etsy, type in HCOFG and it will bring up some wonderful Halloween creations, made by some fabulous artisians. We will be adding items all day today, so be sure to check back for the latest listings

The photo above is one of the items that I will be featuring for the Celebration. This is a Terrye French design, and was so much fun to paint. I just fell in love with its whimsical style. After painting, it was sprinkled with Glamour Dust, giving it a beautiful shimmer to bounce of the spooky lights of Halloween.

I found this authentic cigar box at a tag sale this summer. It is the perfect size to hold all those Hallween treats in your home, or office. The design is by Sandy Hollman, and it also has been liberally sprinkled with Glamour Dust.

This is a new design from Painting With Friends. The designer is Terrye French, and it was painted by Marie Provost. I chose to paint this on an 8x10 canvas and display it with an art easel, but because it is staple free, it can easily be hung on your wall with no frame needed. It would also be so cute nestled into any Halloween gathering. Don't you love the pumpkin head ghost??? Too cute!

Last but not least, I had to paint a new soap! This bar of soap is painted with a Renee Mullin design, and would be so cute as a special little gift for those grandchildren, nieces or nephews.

These creations have been so much fun to work on, and I hope you get a moment to check out the other fabulous works of art from The Old Farmhouse Gathering Team over the long Holiday Weekend!

Holiday Blessings to Each and Everyone!

New Guest Soaps!

Good Monday Morning Blogging Friends! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I had a little time in between visits from my grandchildren to paint up a few new soaps. It is that time of year when it gets a little crazy, as I create different painted soaps for not only my Etsy customers but shop keepers as well.

I wanted to do a couple new primitive soaps, and this design by Marie Provost was perfect. Sheep have to be one of my all time best sellers, and I love painting them too.

This soap is done with a crackle finish. As most of you know I have been crackling soap for a few years now, and I still love the process. This primitive pear was so much fun to paint on this type of background........perfectly prim!

This little cutie is another design by Marie! I wanted a sweet angel to add to the Christmas line this year. She would make a wonderful little "giftie" for those "special angels" in your life that just says thank you!

This sweet ginger is a design from Terrye French. He is all ready for the holidays with his snowflake garland and candy cane. I have so many ideas for holiday soaps, and as time allows I will be adding more as the season approaches. They make such neat stocking stuffers, and are wonderful added to gift baskets. All of these soaps are available in my Etsy shop http://www.primgal.etsy.com/.

Here is wishing you all a great week! I am busy preparing for a Halloween Celebration with my Etsy team, makings swap items, and of course getting my shop ready for the holidays. So the brushes are flying, and I will be back soon to share some more of my creations with you soon. In the meantime......
Blessings to All My Special Blogging Friends!

Good Morning Blogging Friends!

Happy Monday Morning Friends!
I know it has been quite awhile since my last post, and I honestly don't know where the time has gone this summer. I wish that I could say that it has been filled with outside projects, home remodels, or just some good old fashioned tweeking, but I have yet to get all those things accomplished.
I did manage to get this little teapot painted...this was a yard sale find of a couple years ago. I removed the lid and turned it into a candleholder. This one didn't last long in my Etsy shop, happy to say......it
sold the first day I listed it....yea!!

This rolling pin was allot of fun to paint! I have a favorite resale shop here in town, and found these rolling pins there. The design is by Marie Provost! I wish I could have captured a better photo of it, another thing on my to do list....:) I love Marie's designs, and thought this would be adorable in rolling pin holders, or just placed in a cabinet for display!

Now this one was rather interesting to work on. I was playing around with different background techniques with this piece, and I loved how it turned out. The plate is so old and antique looking. I am still debating on weather to add something to the rim of the plate.....hmm whatcha think? Anyway this is one of Terrye French's designs, and as you all know I love painting anything she designs.

Here is wishing you all a terrific week ahead. I have wholesale orders, and custom orders to work on this week, but I have a few Halloween items in the works also, so stay tuned.....:)
Happy Monday All!

Good Saterday Morning All!
Been awhile since my last post, but I have been gearing up for the Old Farmhouse Gathering Team's Fall Celebration that will be starting on Monday, August 2-15!
On Monday if you go to Etsy and search ACOFG......you will find 87, yes I said 87 new fall items that will be showcased by this Etsy Team!

I wanted to show you my entries for the Celebration. This is a door crown, shelf sitter that I painted with a fabulous Terrye French design. This could see you through the entire Fall season!

This dust pan was found at a yard sale this summer, so I brought it home, painted it black and added the white pumpkin design, along with a raffia ribbon, and hang tag that says "Fall".

This candleholder is painted using a Deb Richey design of a crow and pumpkins. What I love about this candleholder is that it can be used for all seasons. I left the other side of the candleholder blank, added two black stars to the sides, so that when the Fall season is over, it can be turned around and used all year!

Last but not least is another one of my paint cans. This one was done for the Fall season with pumpkins and saltbox houses, another Terrye French design. I painted "Prim Blessings" to the lid and added a farria bow to the side of the handle.
All of these items will be available for purchase in my Etsy shop on Monday, August 2nd! I hope you have a moment to stop over and search the wonderful new creations made by this talented team!
See you there!
