Good Morning Everyone~! In my last post I spoke of some new things that I have been working on, and I just completed these yesterday, so I wanted to share.
This first photo is a gourd that was given to me by a dear friend, and when I first saw it I just knew I had to do something special with it. This is what I came up with.....isn't it cute? I love painting on gourds......some I leave in the natural state, but in others such as this one I do paint the entire gourd. This little guy will be available in my Etsy shop soon. Most of my Halloween art is geared toward making you smile, rather then the scary stuff. So you will see cute cats, smiling ghosts, and adorable creatures, rather then the more ghoulish things.

Here is another gourd that I did up for the Fall/Autumn season. This is my favorite season of all, so I do lots of things geared more to Harvest, Scarecrows, and Gratitude. This gourd was left in its natural state, with the design only being painted. I think this is one of my favorite designs from Deb Richey.

I have had several requests to paint some fall mouse pads, so while I had my palette out with the colors for the gourd, I went ahead and painted the same design on the mouse pad. I have several customers that love to switch out their mouse pads for the seasons, so I hope they enjoy this new design.

And last but not least is another mouse pad I did with a Renee Mullin design. This one is full of detail, and is my all time favorite.

Even thought we are now enjoying great summer weather, it is that time already to be thinking of fall decorating, so I will be working on many more items in the coming days. I hope you have enjoyed these, and I will return soon with more creations. As always all of these items are available in my Etsy shop. Till next time............blessings to all, and thanks so much for visiting my blog. You gals keep me inspired, and I love hearing from all of you!

  1. What do you have to do to paint on the gourds? I have wanted to do this, but they always got moldy. Yours turned out fantastic! Kim

  2. I always love your work. You paint so nicely and pick the perfect patterns!

Love the gourds! I have always wanted to have a few of those myself, but it hasn't happened yet. I can't seem to find them around here. My MIL planted some last year but didn't get many and of course, kept them for herself! LOL

    Have a great day :)

  4. These gourds were cleaned for me, so they were ready to paint. Sometimes I paint directly on the gourd with no other prep, and others I do I add paint as a basecoat. Then if they are sealed well, and kept out of the elements, they should last for a very long time.

  9. Wonderful fall and Halloween designs -- the crafty side of me loves that time of year best, too ... whether scary or cute little creations emerge, they always seem the best. And I do agree, that is an incredible cute little gourd (who does an excellent imitation of being scary, too). ;-)

  10. Jody,

Thank you for visiting my blog. I am loving those brooms too :-)

I just love your gourds! How cute -- I have a lot of plain ones, and one that I won at a Christmas Show that was painted red ... looks like a huge red delicious apple ... lol.

I bet that popcorn candle makes you hungry ... mmmm! I bet that one is a huge seller!
