Oh My!! It has been too long!

Hey Girls!
It has been way too long since I have had an opportunity to get back in touch with my blog! So sorry for being MIA, but lets just call it summer......:) So many things to do, and so little time. I have been trying to stay up on your blogs though, and I have seen some of the most gorgeous makeovers, redo's and gardens! You gals are all so talented and you inspire me every day with your incredible talents!
Anyway, I can't tell ya what I have been doing, cause it has just been a little of this and little of that. It has been so very hot here, as we went from rain on a daily basis, now to high 90's all week. So I have tried to get my gardening done in the mornings, and do some painting in the afternoon. I have a few new fall projects that I have been working on, and I hope to have the pictures to show you by the beginning of next week. Keeping my fingers crossed anyway.......:)

If you have a chance, Kim, of Kim's Country Cottage is having a great giveaway. She is giving away THREE of these wonderful candles in Popcorn, Root Beer, and Cotton Candy scents. She is asking for your favorite all time candle scents so that she can add to her new endeavor with her son......candle making! Go on over and leave a comment.......I know she would appreciate it so much!

I hope you all are having a terrific summer so far. I can't believe that I am already starting to paint for fall, but it is that time of year for artists to get started for shows, and online sales. So stop back by next week to see a couple new things I have done......till then as always.........Blessings

It has finally quit raining here! Whoo Hoo, we actually saw sun today. Now I get to go and get rid of all those weeds that popped up this past week. I did manage to get a few new pictures this morning, so thought I would share with you all. My garden is primarily perennial, so there is always something new blooming, and I just love that.

This begonia is planted in a Terra Cotta heart that I found in Michigan one summer. I never realized how many heart items I had till I started taking photos...I have them on the fence, in garden stakes, in planters, and in stepping stones. I shared with you the other day the new one that I purchased, so now I guess I have a real theme going.

I love this ground cover........it has the most beautiful silver leaves, and then before the season is done, it just loads itself in these gorgeous purple flowers.......stunning!

I have pink and white astilbe that is finally starting to come into its own. I have a larger plant of it towards the back of the garden, but it hasn't bloomed yet.......can't wait!
Now to the stuff I managed to get done this week..........this was an old bowl I found at GW......the reason I grabbed it was that it was just slightly out of round, and I thought oh how cool......so prim. So it got a coat of black paint, then distressed, and I added the dark tan star. Then I drilled a hole in the top, added a cheesecloth hanger and hung it on my fireplace. I have another one just like this one, so I am hoping to get it listed in my Etsy shop soon.

I was in a very simple mode this week, so everything I did, I didn't want to overdo.....thus this little wood plate, painted black and again the same design star. On this piece I added the burgundy pip berries and it will be available for purchase also.

No matter how I tried, I couldn't get the true colors to come out on this shelf sitter. The sides are painted black, and the top is a deep burgundy red. Shows brighter here. This was done from a design by Susan Burd that she had featured in Create and Decorate. Although I loved hers, I wanted to do something different with mine, so instead of painting the pennies as she did, I decided to do a little mixed media, and added antique buttons, for the flower centers. Love the way it turned out.

Well that is about it for today........I am headed out to pull a few weeds, and get a little yard work done, so hope everyone has a super relaxing weekend, and till next time.......Blessings to ya as always!
